FORREST CITY, AR (WMC) - Police say a 15-year-old boy was found dead Thursday morning outside a housing complex in Forr

est City, prompting a murder investigation.

Forrest City Police Chief Deon Lee identified the teen as Jordan White and said he was shot in the face.

Thursday night, officials made an arrest in the boy’s death. However, no information about the suspect has been released.

Forrest City officials are holding a press conference Friday morning at 10 a.m. with more details.

Officers res

ponded just before 8 a.m. to the corner of Rice Street and Mann Avenue where the boy’s body was discovered behind Dawson Homes.

Lee says investigators haven’t developed a suspect or a motive, but he says the investigation is especially difficult.

“Any time any individual is murdered in this nature or murdered period, in law enforcement it affects you,” said Lee. “But it even affects you more when it’s a young child, a young life is taken from you.”

Lee says this kind of crime is rare in Forrest City, a small, tight-knit community. He estimates they average just one or two homicides a year.

Anyone with information about White’s murder is asked to call the Forrest City Police Department at (870) 633-3434.
