MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - It won’t be long now before the Memphis Express takes the field for its inaugural season in the New Alliance of American Football Professional League.
Express Head Coach and NFL Hall of Famer Mike Singletary stopped by the WMC5 studios to talk about the experience.
“Very excited about it,” Singletary said. “I’ve learned a lot, and it was so good that I did that, just having the opportunity to remember what it was like to play at the high school level. Now, to know that you’re dealing with young men, grown men that want to try and play this game at the next level. So, very excited about the opportunity.”
A league-wide "Protect or Pick" Quarterback Draft will be held next Tuesday in Las Vegas.
Singletary said the Express will also have an open tryout at the University of Memphis indoor facility in December.
