MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis Animal Services received a $5,000 grant from a non-profit to implement their new door-to-door doghouses program.
The program partners with an animal welfare outreach non-profit All 4s Rescue League.
Their goal is to help owners provide a better-quality life for their outdoor dogs.
“We generally go around different neighborhoods and try to find dogs that are outside and make sure they have shelter and have the basic pet needs,” said Suzy Hollenbach, director of All 4s Rescue League. “If they have a dog house that's not in good shape, we will replace that, provide meds and free spay and neuter.”
The grant from the Maddie’s Fund will pay for about 50 doghouses.
People who would like to help provide more doghouses for the program can donate to Memphis Animal Services.
