MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Crye-Leike says the FBI is investigating after their computer systems were hacked Thursday night.
Steve Brown, president of residential sales for the real estate company, says they were notified Thursday night that someone was trying to breach their computer systems. They shut down their intranet, which is their business' private network, to minimize the effect of the breach.
Brown says they are still closing real estate transactions and all of their branches are open Friday. It’s unclear what systems and information were affected or compromised.
Crye-Leike has brought in a team of computer security experts to mitigate the attack. Brown says they have backups of all their systems. The hack has forced the company to perform some workarounds, but Brown says they have multiple layers of protection in their computer systems.
