MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A victim in Cooper-Young says he was followed then carjacked and robbed.
The description of the suspect's vehicle also matches one involved in a deadly shooting early Friday morning.
Quincy Beasley was awakened Thursday around 5:30 a.m. with a knock on his door from his frightened neighbor.
"He was shaken up and he said, ‘I just got robbed,’" Beasley said.
Beasley called 911. The neighbor said two guys robbed him at gunpoint in his driveway.
“Had guns weapons of course that they drew on him,” Beasley said. “Asked him for his keys. he gave them to him.”
It appears the crooks followed the neighbor, who was driving home from work in his black 2007 Mercedes.
According a police report, the victim noticed an older model white pickup behind him as he drove past south Cox.
He turned and the pickup followed him. When he got to his house, the victim said the suspects approached him and asked "What's up? Where's the money?"
The suspects got his wallet with a debit card, six credit cards, his driver’s license, and a key to his BMW and his house.
"It’s kind of scary you know cause you want to think that you are safe in the neighborhood that you’re in,” Beasley said.
Police are trying to determine if the same suspects were involved in a deadly attempted robbery that happened Friday around 2 a.m. at the Express Gas Station on Summer Avenue near the High Point Terrace community.
The victim was found dead in his truck.
Not long after the Summer Avenue deadly shooting, police stopped a white Toyota Pickup with six males in it.
Inside the truck officers found a BMW key on one of the suspects. Police took all six males into custody.
