VIDEO: Drone footage shows site of deadly charter bus crash

Charter bus crash drone video

SALINE COUNTY, AR (WMC) - Video recorded from a drone shows skid marks from a deadly charter bus crash early Monday morning.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. near Little Rock, Arkansas. The bus, owned by Scott Shuttle Services in Somerville, was carrying members of the Orange Mound Youth Association Elite Team home to Memphis.

Authorities confirm one child died in the crash and 45 passengers suffered injuries of varying degrees.

Our NBC affiliate KARK recorded the footage Monday morning. From above, the video shows the marks on the grass where the bus left the road, overturned and landed on its side.

One coach who was on board the bus says he felt it flip multiple times while he held on to a pole.

“All I heard was a swerve then it started flipped and went down a hill, and down another hill," he said. "After that we started trying to calm the kids down and get as many that we could off the bus.”

At least four of the injured players, including the child who died, attend Aspire Public Schools in Memphis. Shelby County Schools is now collecting money for the victims and their families.
