Mid-South teen advances to Top 8 on ‘The Voice’

Reagan Strange awaits fate on "The Voice"

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Go Reagan Go!

Our own Mid-South contestant Reagan Strange made it to the semifinals on “The Voice” on Tuesday night.

We spoke with Reagan, who talked about singing Faith Hill’s song “Cry” on Monday night’s show.

"I had an incredible time up there, and it was a very emotional song, but I had a lot of fun,” Reagan said. "Of course, it's a little difficult because I haven't gone through that much in my life. But I try my best when I get up there just to deliver the song and what it means."

She also thanked her fans and support system back home.

"I just want to say to everybody at home thank you for supporting me, it really means a lot, and for just continuing to stream and host lots of watch parties and everybody back home is so sweet, and I couldn’t be here right now without them,” Reagan said.

Tuesday, WMC5 also sat down with former “Voice” contestant Keith Paluso, who competed this season.

He gave us his take on the way this season’s advancing, since he left the show.

Former "Voice" contestant Keith Paluso offers insight into show

Paluso says the contestants became like family, after spending a lot of time with one another during auditions.

“Hey Reagen, it’s Keith. I’m all the way back in Memphis, and I just want to let you know that I support you the whole way," Paluso said. “Go Reagan, go!”

Paluso says he’s booked a number of gigs into the new year, and he’s going from full-time park ranger to full-time singer, songwriter, and guitarist.
