Maker recalls infant ibuprofen sold at Walmart, CVS and Family Dollar

Recall announced for infant ibuprofen

(WMC) - A pharmaceutical company is recalling infant ibuprofen sold at Walmart, CVS and Family Dollar.

Tris Pharma says the products may have “potentially higher concentrations of ibuprofen."

The recalled items are sold under brand names Equate Infants Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, CVS Health Infants Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension and Family Wellness Infants Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension.

Tris Pharma says infants who are given the recalled medication face a slight risk of developing permanent renal or kidney injuries. Other side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tinnitus, headaches and other gastrointestinal problems.

The company recommends customers contact a doctor if they’ve noticed health issues following consumption.
