Tracking a cold rain & possibly snow

A low pressure system will move along the Gulf Coast bringing rain to the Mid-South Friday and Saturday and possibly ending as snow for some areas Sunday morning.

Isolated to widely scattered showers will develop overnight and a few showers will be possible during the day Friday. More widespread rain will move in Friday night and will continue into the weekend.

THE WEEKEND: Saturday will be a cold rainy, and windy day with highs in the lower 40s along with a northeast wind at 15-20 mph. Rain will continue Saturday night and could briefly change to snow or sleet along and north of the I-40 corridor before ending early Sunday morning. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with highs only in the upper 30s to near 40 and overnight lows in the upper 20s.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be partly cloudy with high in the lower 40s and overnight lows in the mid to upper 20s. Tuesday will be mostly sunny with afternoon highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 30s. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the lower 50s and overnight lows in the mid 40s. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain along with high temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.
