MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - When it comes to assistant coaches, success typically leads to some form of departure. That’s the case with the Memphis Tiger football team.
For the fourth straight season, Tigers head coach Mike Norvell will look for a new offensive coordinator. U of M offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham is leaving Memphis to become the quarterback coach and offensive coordinator for Auburn University.
Dillingham joined the Tigers as a graduate assistant in 2016, and quickly rose up the ranks, working primarily with the quarterbacks. He will now takeover for Chip Lindsey who left for the same job at Kansas University.
Gus Malzahan will continue to call plays for Auburn.
Dillingham will not coach for Memphis against Wake Forest in the Birmingham Bowl on December 22.
