MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A former basketball player for the University of Memphis is now in custody after deputies asked for help tracking him down.
Jimario Rivers, 23, was wanted for aggravated assault. He’s accused of attacking his girlfriend at Sprouts on Highway 64 last month.
Investigators say Rivers broke his girlfriend’s cellphone and pulled her hair during an argument. The woman told police the last thing she remembered was waking up on the ground. Officers noted injuries to her face during her interview at the hospital.
On Dec. 28, Rivers was charged and an arrest warrant was issued.
Records show he was booked into jail Wednesday after deputies asked for help finding him. He’s due in court Friday.
