MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Memphis Grizzlies started 2019 with another disappointing loss.
The Grizz hosted the Detroit Pistons, a team coming in with three straight losses, at FedExForum on Wednesday night.
Detroit would go on to beat Memphis 101-94.
The entertaining battle of the night was between All-Star Blake Griffin and star rookie Jaren Jackson, Jr.
The fourth overall pick scored 26 points on 8-11 shooting and added 10 rebounds for good measure.
But Griffin was just as good from the floor, with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
The Pistons ended up dominating from behind the arc, making 16 three-pointers to Memphis' four.
After the game, a heated team meeting reportedly occurred.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, there was an altercation between Garrett Temple and Omri Casspi in the locker room.
Charania said sources told him Casspi and Temple had to be separated during a physical exchange over an argument on the lack of enthusiasm from the Grizzlies' bench. Click here to read more (subscription needed).
“A conversation that needed to be had that will stay between those of us that were in that locker room,” Bickerstaff told reporters after the game.
Marc Gasol spoke to reporters after the game about the frustration that comes with losing.
The Grizzlies, now 18-19, next host the Brooklyn Nets, Friday night at FedExForum at 7 p.m.
