Police looking for man who attempted to kidnap teen girl

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis police are searching for a man they say tried to kidnap a teen girl on Friday.

The 16-year-old said she got off her school bus at about 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of Ketchum Road and Pecan Circle, which is near the intersection of Airways Boulevard and I-240.

She said a white pickup truck pulled up beside her, and the driver got out of the truck, walking up to her.

The teen said he wrapped his arm around her and tried pulling her towards the truck.

She was able to kick and scream, causing him to let her go.

The suspect then got back into his truck and drove off.

He is described as a tall black male with a muscular build wearing a neon green work vest, a white T-shirt, and light-colored blue jeans.

The white pickup truck has an extended body style with a camper on the back and writing on the side.

The teen told police this was the second time she had been involved with the same suspect, and she did not report the previous incident.

If you know anything about this case, you’re asked to call Memphis police.
