MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Three organizations are partnering to uplift the Memphis community.
The NAACP, the New Tri-State Defender, and Kroger unveiled a new community grant program.
"Uplift the Community" is an opportunity for businesses and community organizations to come together in a positive effort toward equitable change in Memphis and Shelby County.
“What we want to do is improve the community,” one organizer said. “We want to decrease crime. We want to decrease the blight that you see so much, you know if you drive down the street, you see it all along the streets here in this area. It’s not only for this area but the Memphis area and Shelby County.”
Anyone with a non-profit can apply starting Friday.
The maximum amount you can apply for is $10,000.
To apply, visit the NAACP’s website.
