City cleans up illegally dumped tires from Memphis neighborhood

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The City of Memphis has stepped in to clean illegally dumped tires in front of a group of townhomes.

Fox Hollow Townhomes has been on the city's radar for years.

Monday night, community activist Patricia Rogers said the dumping was becoming hazardous to residents’ health.

Steve Shular with the City of Memphis Neighborhood Concerns made sure to send city crews to clean up Tuesday morning.

“I’m happy about the city coming over here to finally clean up,” said resident Jason Hughes.

“For the mayor’s office to respond immediately and come out here and do what needs to be done, they may have broken some rules to do it I don’t know, but I’m glad about it,” Rogers said.

Rogers said this is what happens when you work together.

If you see illegal dumping, call 311 and report it.
