Storms zap power in Mid-South

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Storms knocked out power to thousands in the Mid-South on Wednesday morning, but it’s since come back on for many Memphians.

Power was knocked out in Downtown Memphis near 6:30 a.m.

Rain has been steadily falling for hours and will continue throughout the remainder of the morning.

Power has since been restored.

A tree was also knocked onto power lines in Southaven on Wednesday morning.

The tree went down during rain and winds early in the morning at Church Road and Swinnea Road.

Power was knocked out in the area. Entergy is working to fix the issue; they have an estimated repair time of 10 a.m.
