MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A local church and organization are doing their part to help Mid-South federal employees affected by the recent government shutdown.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church is partnering with the Memphis District Association (MDA) to help families in need.
Although the furlough has ended, employees’ paychecks may not be immediately available.
Dr. Eric Winston, Mt. Zion Church, and the MDA wants to move forward with their pre-plans by providing prayer, prepaid gift cards, and a prepared hot-carry-out meal to workers.
These will be given out on a first come, first serve basis at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 60 S. Parkway East, 38106 on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 1-4 p.m.
An employee picture I.D. will be required.
Please call Mt Zion on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. for directions or details at (901) 942-0879.
