MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Remington College Memphis has partnered with author, entrepreneur and reality television alumna Kathy Wakile to offer a new culinary program.
Students in the culinary skills diploma program will learn the essentials for a career in the food service industry in the college’s new culinary training center, “Kathy Wakile’s Real Culinary Kitchen."
Wakile starred in “Real Housewives of New Jersey” for several seasons. She learned to cook growing up in an Italian-American family surrounded by home cooked and baked goods, making a splash in the culinary world with INDULDGE by Kathy Wakile, which includes cannoli kits and specialty coffee.
Wakile also wrote a national best-selling cookbook of the same name and opened a restaurant, Pizza Love, in New Jersey.
“My family has been passing down the knowledge of cooking good food and baking delicious desserts for generations,” said Wakile. “I’ve loved building a business on that knowledge. Now, I’m excited to share what I know with the next generation of cooks and bakers at Remington College.”
Wakile visited Thursday to show off the new culinary lab and promote the new program, which the school hopes to expand to its other campuses in the future.
