FedEx announces COO’s exit weeks after being named to board of directors

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A top FedEx executive has left the company just weeks after being named to the board of directors.

FedEx Corporation announced Thursday that company president and chief operating officer David Bronczek has made a “personal decision to retire." He was just named to the board of directors Jan. 28.

Company founder and chairman of the board Fred Smith has already named Bronczek’s successor. Raj Subramaniam will take over as president and COO March 1.

According to the news release, Subramaniam will also serve as co-president and co-CEO of FedEx Services.

Subramaniam has 27 years with FedEx, holding various executive-level positions over the years in Memphis and abroad. He most recently served as FedEx Corporation’s executive vice president and chief marketing and communications officer.
