Man confesses to supplying local convenience store with weed

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis man is facing charges after admitting to selling and storing marijuana in his apartment and at his friend’s convenience store.

48-year-old Tawfig A Al Sibahy confessed to supplying his friend, who is the owner of Express Mini Mart on Madison Avenue, with 50-100 grams a month.

Detectives received a warrant to search Sibahy’s apartment.

While conducting surveillance, they saw a woman leave and get in Sibahy’s car. Detectives then conducted a traffic stop.

They smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. The scent was coming from a small purse on the passenger seat which contained a small amount of weed.

The woman was escorted back to Sibahy’s apartment where detectives arrested him.

They also found a plastic bag filled with 27 plastic containers of marijuana.

Sibahy is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell
