NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Drug overdoses are once again the leading cause of death in Tennessee, but the state Health Department is hoping a new law will reverse that trend. Information released yesterday by the state Health Department's Vital Statistics office shows drug overdoses killed 1,166 people last year.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - A movie theater chain says it is reviewing complaints after its Augusta theater showed scenes from the R-rated film "Sex Tape" instead of the children's movie "Mr. Peabody & Sherman" in a summer movie program for youngsters. A spokesman says the theater experienced what he calls a "programming issue" at Regal Augusta Exchange.
FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - Fort Campbell is holding a relinquishment of responsibility ceremony for the 101st Airborne Division's command sergeant major. Friday's ceremony is at the sprawling post on the Kentucky-Tennessee line.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Department of Correction is accepting applications for its Citizens' Correctional Academy. The academy is designed to give Tennesseans an in-depth look at the state's largest law enforcement agency, with more than 6,800 men and women.
