JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - An attorney says it could be weeks before a Mississippi grand jury considers a case against his client and others charged with conspiring to photograph Sen. Thad Cochran's ailing wife in a nursing home. Kevin Camp is the defense attorney for Clayton Kelly, a conservative blogger charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult and filming without permission.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting the state's third human case of West Nile virus for 2014. The new reported case is in Rankin County after earlier cases reported in Newton and Hinds counties. In 2013, Mississippi had 45 West Nile cases and five deaths.

VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - The girlfriend of a Louisiana physician has pleaded guilty to five counts of prescription forgery. Reports indicate Pattie Carr, who prosecutors say had her live-in boyfriend write her fraudulent prescriptions for more than 13,000 pills, will be sentenced Aug. 4.

GAUTIER, Miss. (AP) - A city-wide celebration is in the works in Gautier (go-shay) for a veteran who lost both legs and an arm in the war in Afghanistan. Gautier High School graduate Anthony McDaniel was injured in 2010 when he stepped on an improvised explosive device.
