44-year-old Alan Hickam is charged with two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure, and three counts of sexual battery by an authority figure.

Hickam, hired six months ago as Director of Golf at Memphis National Golf Club in Collierville, allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old employee at the club
Police allege the relationship with the victim began in June.  According to a police report, Hickam and the girl engaged in multiple sex acts in locations including Hickam's office at the club, the backseat of a car in the club's parking lot, and at a nearby home Hickam was house-sitting for a friend.

Captain Jeff Abein of the Collierville Police Department said Hickam's story should be a lesson for all adults.  "I think anybody needs to remember when you deal with juveniles, you need to conduct yourself a certain way," he said.

Hickam has been suspended without pay.  Officials at Memphis National Golf Club had no comment.

Hickam will appear in court August 9th.  He did not return calls from Action News 5 for an interview.
