MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis police are investigating a Monday night murder that happened in the heart of Hickory Hill.

Officials said the shooting happened Monday night at the Wyndridge Apartments, located near the intersection of Knight Arnold and Ridgeway.

The cousin of the man who was shot to death said the suspect had earlier robbed the victim, and then came Monday night.

The cousin, a man who would identify himself only as 'Rickey,' said the victim had just made a fresh start.

"He turned his live around," Rickey said.  "I mean, he did time, and he got out.  He turned his life around."

Rickey said his aunt and two young cousins were in the apartment at the time the shooting happened.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who they believe lives at the Wyndridge Apartments.  If you have information that could help police, call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
