BARTLETT, TN (WMC-TV) - The family of a model found dead over the weekend broke their silence by issuing a written statement Friday.

As the family of Lisa Davis waits to find out from the Medical Examiner how their daughter died, they felt the need to say thank you to the people that have supported them since their daughter disappeared..

In a statement released Friday the Davis family said, "In a time when tragedy is bigger than words I would like to thank the Bartlett community for the kindness and consideration shown me and my family during this unimaginable time."

Saturday night Lisa Davis went out with a group of friends. After two in the morning Sunday, no one saw her again until Tuesday, when Austin Agee's suicide note led police to her body in a field.

In Friday's statement, Davis's father Steve wrote, "I would like to extend a special thanks to: The Bartlett Police Department, Joe Kilpatrick and all the people at Bumpus HD, the Investigative Services of the Bartlett PD, Sweet and Sassy Salon, Baymont Inn, Bellevue Baptist Church, and all the people who helped search for Lisa, and all her friends, especially Amy and Haley."

"Lisa called Bartlett home for several years and after experiencing such an outpouring of kindness we understand why she loved it here."

Then the statement says something unexpected.

"To the Agee family - our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you."

The Agee family - also facing the loss of a child - and a family left with just as many questions.

Police say they wont know how Davis died until the Medical Examiner's report is released.  Investigators hope it will be out within the next several days.
