MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The Shelby County Medical Examiner's office says how Bartlett model Lisa Davis died is more complicated than the Bartlett Police Department revealed Monday.

In a press release Monday, Bartlett police said Davis died of a gunshot wound to the head.  However, the Shelby County Medical Examiner's office confirmed Wednesday that multiple injuries are what caused Davis to die.

The Medical Examiner said Davis' death resulted from a combination of blunt force injuries to the head and gunshot wounds.

When asked about why Bartlett police didn't reveal the Davis' other injuries, Lieutenant Rory Mack said, "We still stand by what we released.  There are a lot of other things going around that's part of our investigation."

Bartlett police say the .22 caliber gunshot Davis suffered matches a gun found in Austin Agee's truck. Mack said their investigation shows the gunshot wound is the primary thing that caused Davis' death.

As for the Medical Examiner's statement that multiple causes were involved...Lieutenant Mack said, "We haven't, per se, received that."

Investigators say Agee shot himself to death when Bartlett police went to his home to question him a second time about Davis' disappearance.

In a note, Agee wrote he was sorry that things just got out of hand.  It was that note that led Bartlett police to Davis' body.

The Shelby County Medical Examiner would not say how many gunshot wounds Davis received, or the caliber of the other wounds.  The full report will be available in three months.

Meanwhile, police say evidence at Davis's home indicated Agee acted alone.
