MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A massive memorial was held Friday for the man shot to death earlier this week outside Cactus Jack's nightclub, near Lamar and Winchester.

Hundreds who turned out to say goodbye to Jason Morin, many saying they don't have any closure, because the security guard who police say shot and killed Morin hasn't been charged or cleared.

So many people turned out to Morin's funeral that hundreds of cars couldn't fit in the parking lot.  Meanwhile, the sanctuary at Our Lady of Sorrows was filled to capacity, so dozens of people waited outside.
Morin, 36, was the father of two daughters, ages two and six, and an 18-year-old son.

He was born and raised in Frayser, and owned Morin Tree Service.  Mourners said he made a big impact on the community.

"When you think of Frayser, you think of Jason Morin," friend J.W. Maxwell said.

"He was the best friend anyone could ever have," Jessica Tyrus added.

Morin's step-sister said before the shooting, at around 1:00 a.m. Saturday, Morin was doing his usual donuts in Cactus Jacks' parking lot when a security guard stopped him.  Police say the two got into a physical fight, and then the security guard shot and killed Morin.

Investigators released the security guard, but they say the case is not closed.  An investigator with the District Attorney's office says they are still trying to figure out what happened, and why.

The security guard could still be charged in the case.
