MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The Memphis woman voted off American Idol last week returned home Tuesday night.  A cheering crowd was waiting for Alexis Grace Middleton when she landed in Memphis.

During her run on American Idol, the petite 21-year-old gained fans from around the world, but fans in Memphis were the one she perhaps missed the most.  Namely, her family and friends, her boyfriend, and the two-year-old daughter they share.

"I wasn't expecting everybody to be out here, but it feels really great to have the love and support from family and friends and my home town," she said. "It feels great to be home."

"Its been pretty tough since she's been gone," her boyfriend, Randy Zabielski, said. "I mean, we've had a lot of help though. Grandma is good help."

Middleton's media exposure didn't end when she was voted out of the competition last week.

"About 3:00 a.m. they woke her up the next day to start doing radio interviews," said her mother, Andrea Perry. "She was on the 'Ellen' show."

Tuesday morning, she made an appearance on the Today Show.

Fans want to see more of Alexis Grace, and she fully intends to deliver.

"I'm going to keep going," she said.

"I think that she'll be level headed in trying to determine where she wants to go, as far as career-wise, from here," said her father, Randy Middleton.

Alexis said her time on 'Idol' definitely changed her life.

"You know, having a daughter - it matures you already - but this whole experience just like, it changed my life forever," she said.
