Pictures show toddler holding a gun

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Disturbing pictures received the attention of the Shelby County District Attorney General Wednesday.

The pictures, of a toddler armed with a gun, were found on the MySpace page of Eric Sims, a kidnapping suspect.

Two pictures show a toddler holding a gun, while a red bandana is draped around his wrists and hands.  The little boy is not identified, but the pictures are tied into a kidnapping case from earlier this month.

Eric Sims is in jail, accused of kidnapping his girlfriend's sister's two young children on March 6th.  Both were found unharmed later that night, and Sims was arrested four days later.

District Attorney General Bill Gibbons could not talk about the case specifically, but said Wednesday his gang unit is handling the case.

"We're seeing more and more gangs recruiting at an earlier, earlier, and earlier age, 13, 14, and 15 year olds," Gibbons said.

Illustrating the point the point is Sims' MySpace. The last login is listed as March 20th 2007, but it's a tribute to the Bloods.

The page is covered in pictures of Sims flashing his grill and a handgun, or posing with a rifle.  It's from Sims' MySpace page where officials discovered the unidentified little boy holding the big gun.

The District Attorney's office says prosecutors are aware of Sims' background, his gang affiliation, and his MySpace page.  Prosecutors must determine if and/or how the pictures affect the kidnapping case, and if any crimes were actually committed when the photos were taken.

Sims remains in the Shelby County Jail on $75,000 bond.
