HORN LAKE, MS (WMC-TV) - Horn Lake police are searching for a woman they say steals credit cards from Mid-South homes, and then uses them on shopping sprees.

In surveillance video provided by Horn Lake police, a woman maxes out a credit card she stole on March 9th.

"We're talking in the hundreds of dollars," Horn Lake Police Department Lt. Scott Evans said Wednesday.

In another video, the woman can been seen leaving a Target store after using another stolen card.

"Our victims are all elderly, 65 and above," Evens said. "Some of them have been in their eighties.  One particular one was in her 90's, and had the onset of Alzheimer's."

Evans believes the thief is a smooth talker, and good at getting elderly people to let her enter their homes.

"She talks her way into elderly victims' residences under the ruse of 'I need to use the phone', 'Can I use the restroom,' 'I need a glass of water.' Just any thing to get inside the residence," Evans said.

And investigators have connected two men to the thefts as well. Video show the men leaving Target with a gift card purchased with a stolen credit card.

"If we can find out who this guy is, he might can take us to our suspect who committed the crime here in Horn Lake," Evans said.

Officers say its only a matter of time before the smooth talking thieves strikes again.

"I believe that they are going to keep going, because she did it twice within a week, and we have a couple of other cases that we think she is going to be involved," Evans said.

Unfortunately, Evans said, those elderly victims will probably never get their money back.

Officers are asking anyone who has information about the case to call Horn Lake police at 662-393-6174.
