MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Former Memphis Tigers coach Dana Kirk said Thursday he's as proud of the organization today as he was when he led the team to the Final Four in 1985.

During an interview at Colonial Country Club late Thursday afternoon, Kirk was still proudly wearing his 1985 Final Four ring.  The Tigers didn't come home with a national championship title that year, but Kirk said just getting that far was like going to Disneyland for the entire city of Memphis.

So what does he think about the 2009 Tigers team?  He says it wouldn't surprise him at all if the Tigers go all the way, and he was especially confident about Thursday's matchup against Missouri.

"The Tigers are gonna win. They're gonna win big," he said. "It's not going to be the close game everybody thinks.  The press will not bother them.  They'll take the ball and waltz with it.  There will be more dunks in this game than any game thus far, and that's what you get when you play against a pressure defense."

Looking ahead, Kirk says Connecticut could be the Tigers' toughest opposition as they move forward in the tournament.  But the first order of business - smash Missouri.
