Winds cause overnight fire to spread

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - High winds played a role in causing an overnight fire to spread.

Memphis Firefighters responded to the eleven-hundred block of Faxon Avenue just before midnight Sunday night.

When they arrived, they could see fire coming from a boarding house at the address.

It took crews about 15 minutes to bring this blaze under control, but before they could put it out, strong winds carried the fire causing the home next door to also catch fire.

That home sustained only minor damage.

Sources tell Action News 5 the fire investigator is questioning one of the residents of the boarding house to help determine what sparked the blaze.
At least five people were inside the home at the time of the fire and the Red Cross has been called out to assist at least one of those individuals.
No one was hurt.
