MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Because she didn't pay her taxes, a Mid-South homeowner has been kicked out of her house, and her belongings have been tossed to her front lawn.

Neighbors said it took movers nearly 20 hours to move Robin Towne's every last possession to her lawn.

"It's been heinous," Towne said.

Behind on her payments, Towne was evicted from the house.

"Since my parents' death, it's the hardest thing I've had to do," she said.

At night, she sleeps in her car, parked nearby.

"I had to really stay here and guard stuff because if I left people would take things," she said.

During the day, strangers drive past, offering little things.  During the week her belongings have been in the yard, it's been hot and cold - and it's rained.

"Everything's gotten wet," she said. "I spread it out, it got wet again...and again."

Even Towne concedes, she's got mounds of junk she should've trashed years ago.  But family heirlooms are mixed in.

"My grandmother's pictures," she said. "They're all wet, but..."

While she searches for sentimental value, the next step awaits.

"I guess to find someplace to live," she said. "I don't know what organization I would go to."

While some of her items will go into storage, Towne said most of the rest is destined for a landfill.
