Nobody said it would be easy for New University of Memphis Head Basketball Coach Josh Pastner to try and Rebuild the Tigers Program..
But, I bet he didn't think it would be THIS hard.
CBSSports.com reports Baylor Assistant Coach Jerome Tang turned Pastner down today, and says he'll stay on Scott Drew's staff down in Waco, Texas.
That means Pastner will continue to be a one-man show in the Tigers Basketball Office.
An even TOUGHER position because the Late Signing period opens next week.
Former University of Memphis star guard Andre Turner hopes he's better late than never when it comes to applying for a Job on Pastners' staff.
Turner, known as the Little General when he played for the Tigers in the mid 19-80's, helped lead the U of M to 4-straight NCAA Tournament berths, including 2-Sweet 16's and a Final Four, spent the last 20-years playing professionally..
3-in the NBA and 17 in Spain.
Now that he's settling back down his hometown, the former Mitchell High Star says he wants to help Pastner keep the Tigers on Top.
Pastner says he has no timetable on naming a staff, but appreciates the former Tigers who are already coming to his aide.
