MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis Police and CrimeStoppers are offering a large reward to find the crook who stole prescription drugs meant for patients at area hospitals.

The thieves opened up a huge bottle of worms when they stole a bunch of pharmaceutical drugs worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The drugs ranged from Morphine to Oxycodone to Oxycontin.

"They can sell them on the street in a minute," Memphis CrimeStoppers head Buddy Chapman said.

In the end, "Chapman said, the crime will wind up costing you.

"Your pharmaceuticals will immediately become more expensive," he said.

The drugs were in a 53-foot trailer at the time they were stolen.  The burglarized company doesn't want to be identified.  Chapman hopes the combined reward of $11,000 gets the attention of someone who can help crack the case.

"Someone knows who's committed every crime, and in all truth, someone knows who's going to commit every crime," he said.

Chapman says even if no one witnessed the crime, someone knows someone who's trying to sell it.

"It's not everyday you find someone who wants to sell morphine or hydrocodone on the street," he said.
