MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A student charged with making a sex video that his assistant principal then shared with school staff members faced a judge Tuesday.

Police say DeAndra Woodall, 18, recorded video of a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl having sex without the girl's permission.

When he showed off the video in class, police say Assistant Principal Terence Bobo of Melrose High School confiscated it.  But instead of reporting the incident to police or parents, police say Bobo put the video on his office computer and shared it with other staff members.

It's behavior that is unacceptable to school board member Martavius Jones.

"Of course it's surprising to me," Jones said. "This is something that is unacceptable in society, let alone in the school environment.  So this is not common behavior for Memphis, for Tennessee, much less Memphis City Schools."

Jones said Bobo's case has been turned over to authorities.

Bobo has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. Meanwhile, Woodall's next day in court is May 12th.
