Miriam Lowery, 5, is a Kindergarten student at Austin Peay Elementary in Tipton County.  This week, she placed in the top 40 in the nation in a recent Doodle for Google competition.

The contest includes K through 12th grade students who were invited to redesign the Google homepage logo.  This year Google invited some 28 thousand kids to join in the doodling fun.

Miriam is the youngest student to place in the nationwide contest -- her artwork is named "Friendship Around the World."

"My wish for the world is that everybody will be friends and get along," Miriam said.

"Its exciting - she loves art just like I do, she wants to be an art teacher when she grows up so its been such an awesome experience and we're just so proud of her," said Miriam's art teacher and mother Jenna Lowery.

Miriam and her family head to the Big Apple next Tuesday to compete, and she needs your help to win.  To vote for Miriam's artwork, click here.  Miriam's artwork is listed under region seven.
