The St. Jude Classic is just around the corner, and so far, not having a title sponsor has had little effect in the tournament's ability to lasso top ranked talent to sign on.
Tournament officials today announcing the additions of crowd favorites Sergio Garcia and Camillo Villegas to the 2009 PGA stop in Memphis.
Garcia and Villegas, both of whom played Memphis last year, are in the top 10 of the World Golf rankings, with Garcia sitting 3rd in the world and Villegas 10th.
That brings the total number of top 10 players committed to the St. Jude to 5.
Players Champion Henrick Stenson, as well as Padraig Harrington and Phil Mickelson have also said they'll be here.
Mickelson is somewhat of a question mark, with his wife due to undergo breast cancer surgery in the next two weeks, but Tournament Director Phil Cannon tells me lefty is still committed.
The St. Jude Classic is set for June 11th through 14th.
