MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a man who police say shot and killed another man earlier this year in the parking lot of a Cordova shopping center.

Thursday, District Attorney Bill Gibbons' office announced a grand jury had indicted Harry Coleman, 59, for second degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, employing a firearm during the commission of a felony, and assault.

Investigators say Coleman and the victim, Robert Schwerin, 52, got into an altercation in the parking lot of the Trinity Commons shopping center in Cordova.  According to an affidavit of complaint, Coleman went to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun, then walked back to where Schwerin was standing and shot the victim in the torso.

Schwerin died from the gunshot wound, and the medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide.

Coleman was arrested at the scene.  He is currently out of jail on a $500,000 bond.
