Redbirds Welcome Greene from Cardinals/Get Breezed by Zephyrs

The up and down Baseball road between Memphis and St. Louis is well travelled in BOTH directions for the Cardinals and Redbirds..

Cardinals ShortStop Khalil Greene begins a Rehab assignment Monday Night with the Triple-A- Birds at AutoZone Park against New Orleans.

Greene went on the 15-Day DL last month with what the Cardinals are calling "social Anxiety Issues.."

Whatever.

St. Louis Manager Tony La Russa hopes Greene will be ready to go back up to the Big Club when he's eligible to come off the DL this Sunday..

Greene doing his job defensively..he also has a base hit..

The Birds juice the bags in the 3rd inning with only one out...

All they need is a timely hit to break the ice..

But Alan Craig Strikes out looking to end the inning..

New Orleans comes back with a threat of its' own in the 4th with two men on and one gone.

B.J. Walters gets a K for out #2..

Then it's up to the defense.. Hard bouncer up the first baseline.. a tough play for rightfielder Joe Mather.. But he gets it done with the throw for the play at the Plate ....OUT!

The 'Birds could've used a few more runs, though.

New Orleans wins it 2-to-1.
