Congratulations, Lamar Kinnell, aka Terrell Kinnell.
You're now a bona fide Scam Cam celebrity.
The Action News 5 Scam Cam has now caught the 26-year-old from Southwest Memphis stealing twice in a little more than a year.
This time, it recorded Kinnell and 21-year-old Richard Nathaniel, home unknown, lifting $2,300 worth of candy from a Crosstown/Midtown Memphis drug store. Store security captured Nathaniel and their getaway driver, but Kinnell escaped.
Feb. 29, 2008, we profiled both Nathaniel and Kinnell stealing more than $1,000 worth of baby formula and condoms from supermarkets in Lakeland, TN, and Bartlett, TN.
The Action News 5 Investigators were rolling when Bartlett police and the Shelby County Sheriff's ALERT Unit (Area Law Enforcement & Retailers Team) apprehended the pair in the parking lot of one of the stores.
Court records indicate Nathaniel served six months in jail for theft of property. Records show Kinnell bonded out on his theft charge in September, but before he went to trial, he pleaded guilty to the baby formula/condom theft in April of this year.
"Lamar Kinnell pleaded guilty to theft of property over $500 on April 14, 2009 and was sentenced to one year," says Jennifer Donnals, communications director for the Shelby County District Attorney General's Office.
But Kinnell didn't serve a year.
According to the Shelby County Criminal Court Clerk's office, he was released on probation. One month later, the Scam Cam catches him with the candy crammed down his pants.
Kinnell's back on the street and on the loose.
