The First High Profile Lottery Pick type player to work out for the Memphis Grizzlies on their home court is none other than former Tigers Star Tyreke Evans.
Evans went through a series of grueling drills by himself today on the Grizzlies FedExForum practice Court..
His agent, like most agents of high lottery selections, wouldn't have it any other way.
Still, the 6'6", 220 pound Consensus Freshman All-American showed many of the skills he honed in his one year on the Collegiate level.
A Big..Strong..physical backcourt player who led the Memphis Tigers in Scoring, averaged, 5 and a half rebounds, 4 assists and more than 2 steals a game on a team that reached the NCAA's Sweet 16.
A good crowd was on hand to watch Evans do his thing..
A former MVP of the McDonalds' All-American game, Evans says it's just part of the game.
And Evans did all he could...BY HIMSELF...with no other players involved.
Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace calls it a glorified Dance Recital..but that's the way the Agents work..
No Contact drills for their Top clients..
Still, Evans, a 6'6", 220 pound Combo Guard, showed the skills which earned him Consensus Freshman All-American Honors with the Tigers.
Wallace says if the Grizzlies feel like Evans worth their Number-2 pick, they'll take him with it. The Grizz' GM says he's not just looking at who'll be the hot flash right now...but who'll have the best career.
For his part, Evans says he'd look forward to play on a young roster and grow with the other Grizzlies budding stars in O.J. Mayo and Rudy Gay.
He says he understands his part as a combo guard to be able to play Both the Point and shooting guard positions and possibly help out Mike Conley and Mayo.
Other Lottery Picks to work out for the Grizz this weekend, Arizona State's James Hardin on Friday, USC's DeMar Derozen, Arizona's Jordan Hill, and UConn's Hasheem Thabeet on Sunday.
