The University of Alabama plans to Appeal the NCAA Infractions Committee ruling that forces the football program to vacate 21 wins.
'Bama President Robert Witt says the penalties are -quote- "excessive"-.
The Crimson Tides' Football program and 15 other sports were placed on 3-years probation after more than 200 athletes were found to have used their scholarships to get Free Textbooks for other students.
Witt argues no Coaches or administrators were involved..and the students, who were suspended, did NOT sell the Textbooks for cash.
The vacated wins come from 2005 through 2007 and include the 2006 Cotton Bowl victory over Georgia Tech.
Alabama has until June 26th to file an Appeal.
