Redbirds Hoffpauir Called Up to St. Louis

The Baseball Road between Memphis and St. Louis gets yet another passenger as Redbirds utility player Jarrett Hoffpauir gets his first Major League Callup to the Parent Cardinals.

Pitcher Clayton Mortenson is sent back down to Memphis.

Hoffpauir is batting 276 with 31 RBI and 10 Home Runs, including yesterday's Bomb at New Orleans in the Redbirds win over the Zephyrs.

The Former Southern Mississippi star has played several infield and outfield positions with the 'birds...

Hoffpauir gets the callup because the Cardinals newest acquisition, Mark DeRosa injured his left wrist Tuesday night in the 4th inning after getting hit in the hand by a pitch from the Giants Randy Johnson.

DeRosa has only been with the Cards for 3-games after coming over in a trade with Cleveland.

He has yet to get a hit with St. Louis.
