City cuts back hours at public golf courses

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - To help balance the budget, the City of Memphis is cutting back hours at several golf courses.

Six of the city's eight public courses will shut down for two days each week. The days will rotate so that one of the courses is always open.

All courses will remain open Fridays and Saturdays.

Galloway and Audubon golf courses will stay open all seven days.

The decreased hours will save the city about $500,000 a year in part-time salaries.
