Grizzlies Ready for Summer League

It's just about time to get to work for the Newest Members of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The teams' 3 Rookies, Center Hasheem Thabeet of Uconn, and swing players DeMarre Carroll of Missouri, and Sam Young of Pitt will all meet up with 9-Free Agents in Las Vegas Wednesday for the Start of practice for the NBA Summer League.

Grizz Second Year players Darrell Arthur and Hamed Haddadi are also on Memphis Summer League Roster.

Grizzlies Head Coach Lionel Hollins says he the Summer League will be Free Flowing offensively, but for Memphis, emphasis will be put on teaching Defensive Technique.

Hollins says bringing the young ones in as a unit defensively takes much more time than learning a new offense. He says the Grizz will teach their basic defensive sets and watch how each newcomer adapts.

Hollins says Grizzlies assistant Dave Joeger will handle Head Coaching Duties in Summer.

The First game set for Sunday July 12th against Oklahoma City in Vegas.

Hollins would NOT comment on any reported Free Agent Moves, like the Zach Randolph signing, citing an NBA's Moratorium until the Salary Cap is set Wednesday.
