MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A 14-year-old boy who ran away after accidentally shooting his 4-year-old sister Thursday evening is now in police custody.

The incident happened in the 800 block of Hudson in the Binghamton area. Police say Martavious Webb was playing with a loaded shotgun when he shot his younger sister in the upper right leg.

The little girl was rushed to an area hospital. Family members said she was in stable condition Thursday night.

Her teenage brother was missing after the incident but returned home around 2:30 Friday morning and was taken into police custody.

Police say they believe the juvenile broke into a bedroom to get the gun, which had been locked away.
