It's official for Tiger Basketball.
Guard Elliot Williams started Summer classes this morning at Memphis after transferring from Duke, where he played his freshman season with the Blue Devils.
U of M coach Josh Pastner announced the 6-foot-4, 180-pounder is on campus ready to go with his new University.
The Tigers lost a recruiting battle for Williams out of High School.
He was a Tennessee Mr. Basketball award winner at St. Georges' in Collierville.
Williams helped Duke to a 30-7 record last year, and was a late season catalyst as a starter helping the Blue Devils win the A.C.C. Tournament and advance to the NCAA Sweet 16.
He announced earlier this summer he was transferring closer to home to be near his sick mother.
Williams plans to ask the NCAA for a waiver from it's transfer rule so he'll be able to play immediately with the Tigers.
