MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A judge denied a request for a new trial Friday from Noura Jackson, a Memphis woman convicted of stabbing her mother to death in their east Memphis home in 2005.
She was 18 at the time.
After a five-hour hearing last March, where witnesses testified on Jackson's behalf and on behalf of her mother, Jackson was sentenced to 20 years 9 months in prison without parole - five years short of the maximum for second-degree murder.
She's now serving that sentence at a prison in Nashville.
