Grizzlies Close NBA Summer League Unbeaten

One Big Positive the Memphis Grizzlies can take from the just completed Vegas Summer League.

That's cultivating a Culture of Winning Basketball.

The Grizz Rookies and Free Agents closed out their 10-Day run in the Desert Sunday with an unbeaten record, going 5-0.

The Houston Rockets are the only other unbeaten squad among the 22 teams in Vegas.

Unlike it's previous games..Memphis had to work the full 40-minutes to beat the San Antonio Spurs.

The Grizz, who's average victory margin was 21-points, were down 10 to the Spurs in the 4th Quarter...

But Rookies Demarre Carroll and Sam Young combined for 32-points and 10 rebounds to bring Memphis Back.

Top Pick Hasheem Thabeet came alive in the late stages...and former First Round Pick Marcus Williams Layup with less than a second left gives the Grizz a 1 point win 76-75.

Williams showed complete control of the team during his summer run with Memphis.

He averaged 7 assists a game, including 17 with only one turnover in their first outing against Oklahoma City.

Look for Williams to be in the Grizz Training Camp as a backup Point Guard in the Fall.
